The Classic Chocolate Chip

Recipe: Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies are always a run away hit at my home.  Always make enough quantity to last a week, but the jar goes empty within a couple of days . The culprits are non other than my little darling and her dad :)
Know what I do now.... I hide away a few so that I can pack them up in my little girls lunch box , she's sure to come back with her box empty, oh, what a rare joy!!!!
I have been making these yummy cookies for a long time now, but somehow never felt like posting them in my space, well, this time I have decided to do these all the favs some justice too.

CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
(Adapted from joy of baking)

Ingredients

All purpose flour - 1 1/4 cup
Unsalted Butter - 1/2 cup at room temp
White Sugar - 3/8 cup
Firmly packed light brown sugar - 3/8 cup
Egg - 1
Vanilla extract - 3/4 tsp
Baking soda - 1/2 tsp
Salt - 1/4 tsp
Chocolate chip - 3/4 cup

Preparation

Preheat oven at 180 degree C and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
Using a hand mixer or stand mixer beat butter on high till smooth and creamy.
Add the sugars and beat for another couple of mins till we get a fluffy and smooth mixture.
Now add the egg and beat till well combined. Also pour in the vanilla extract and beat till combined.
Tip in the dry ingredients and beat on medium-high till well incorporated.
Finally, drop in the chocolate chips and fold in using a spatula.

Using a tablespoon or Icecream scoop drop the dough onto the prepared sheet. This will yield large cookies. For smaller ones, use teaspoons to scoop the dough.
Leave at least 1 inch between the cookies so as to avoid the cookies from sticking together.
Bake for 10-14 mins or till the edges of the cookies start browning.

Remove from oven and leave to cool completely before serving.
